Putting the Fun in Fundraising: Kid-Approved Fundraising Ideas

Whether you’re a charity focused on children or just looking for creative ways to increase fundraising, kid-friendly merchandise can be an effective approach to raise the visibility of your charity. If you’re considering adding customised merchandise to your charitable campaigns this year, why not try a focus on kid-friendly items that are fun for the whole family? In this post, we share five clever and kid-approved ideas, from our new “Doodle Flags” to beach toys to fidget spinners. All in time for summer play!

Raise your Visibility with a Doodle Flag

One of the newest additions to Rocket Charities is the Doodle Flag, the fundraising flag with crayons in the flagstick! We can’t get it enough of these hand-held waving flags that are designed to be customised with your charity logo or message on one side, and an entertaining colouring activity on the reverse. You can also customise the activity by age, and include line drawings for colouring-in, or games like dots-to-dots and word searches. Each Doodle Flag comes with four specialised crayons. One creative idea would be to incorporate the flag as part of a charitable colouring contest for kids on social media. Get Doodling today!

Beach Buckets for Summer Exposure

Get your charity name out and about on the beach this summer with a customised kids beach bucket complete with six beach toys. Each bucket comes with a shovel, rake and three moulds to help entertain children playing in the park or at the beach.

Sunglasses to Get Seen

When your future is so bright, you need to wear shades! We offer a classic, yet stylish pair of kids’ sunglasses with UV400 protection. Help protect kids on bright, sunny days, while promoting the name of your charity on the side of the frames. We offer these in a range of fun colours. They’re also available in adult sizes – consider offering both options for a photo-worthy mum-and-me moment as part of your summer fundraising campaign or event.

Playful Windmills

Just in time for kids playing in the summer breeze, consider a bespoke windmill! We offer a vibrant, customisable windmill with printed full colour on both sides. These are supplied flat for assembly, making them a low-cost, lightweight and playful option that is easy to ship anywhere. Another creative, all-ages idea is to plan a campaign around asking your supporters to place these windmills in their yards or windows as a sign of support for your charity.

Tap into the Trend of Fidget Spinners

One of the hottest kid-friendly gadgets in recent years is the fidget spinner, which really took off in 2017 as a toy to help kids who fidget or have trouble focusing. Fidget spinners are known to help relieve stress and anxiety. Why not leverage the popularity of these toys and place your charity name at the center of it all? We offer customisable plastic fidget spinners in a variety of colours.

Are you planning ahead for a summer event for your charity? Perhaps a BBQ to say thank you to your hardworking volunteers or a bake sale fundraiser or charitable race? All of these kid-friendly items (and a lot more) would make a great addition as either a giveaway or as a way to raise money. We’d love to share some other ideas with you, too. Get in touch with Rocket Charities today and tell us what you’ve got planned. We’ll help you select the perfect kid-friendly items to meet your goals and stick to your budget.
